Premier Oil plc is a leading independent FTSE 250 international oil and gas exploration and production company, with operations in the North Sea (offices in Aberdeen and Stavanger), Middle East/Pakistan (offices in Abu Dhabi and Islamabad) and Asia (offices in Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta).

The Gajah Baru project in Indonsia represents a new 7500 ton integrated platform, bridge linked to a drilling platform, with product to be exported via a new 3.5 km pipeline to an existing trunk line. It will also act as the hub for developing several other fields over the next decade.
Premier now seeks a new OIM for this asset.
Apart from broad operational and technical knowledge in overseeing production assets, staff leadership and development skills are a must for both developing local staff, and building a change culture essential to delivering Premier’s strategic goals. Relationships must also be managed with external contractors and suppliers.
The Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) will initially take a residential role focused on seeing the construction and launch phase for the new platform through to completion (based on Batam Island for circa 12 months), before reverting to a rotational, offshore schedule.

Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or other relevant discipline or (a tertiary Diploma or post graduate qualification may be acceptable dependant on work experience)
- Relevant HSES accreditations (e.g. PTW, HUET, BOSIET)
Skills (and experience):
- 15 years + experience within upstream oil and gas production, Asian experience highly regarded
- 10 years + experience of offshore production assets in a supervisory / management capacity
Knowledge:
- Significant knowledge of offshore production, engineering and maintenance management, able to manage and contribute to all aspects of Field Operations
- Managerial in nature, but sufficiently technically adept in coaching and developing other staff
Attributes:
- Strong team leadership and interpersonal skills, flexibility to meet the fluctuating needs of Field Operations in a multi-cultural environment
- Comfortable in managing a diverse team of Indonesians and expatriates, both staff and contractors
Responsibilities:
- Provide Production and Operations input to ensure the Gajah Baru asset allows Premier Indonesia to safely meet its production targets, on time and on budget
- Act as duty holder for safety of the offshore population and facilities including – up to date major emergency management training, and overall responsibility for control of work through permits, risk management, audit
- Be responsible for day to day production optimisation and reliability of the facility
Act as budget holder for offshore cost centre, significantly influencing Op Ex
- Ensure a competent offshore workforce is recruited and developed, including proper succession and career development planning
- Identify training needs to ensure staff are prepared for all safety and technical aspects of their assigned and projected positions
- Ensure adherence to corporate and regulatory HSES requirements, participate in reviews and audits as the lead Production Operations representative, and develop new processes/procedures as required
